One coat, worn until it fell apart wrong

Jamie started with a single chore coat in 2021 — cut from surplus cotton twill and sewn by a small workshop outside Porto because that's who'd take a first-timer's order. The coat we were replacing had looked great on the hanger and fallen apart after one wet winter, seams first.

That felt backwards. So the brief for everything since has been simple: build it so it fails last at the seams, not first.

No drops, on purpose

We don't run seasonal collections or countdown-timer launches — that model rewards hype, not the actual clothes. Instead we keep a small, considered range in production year-round, and only retire a style once we've found a genuinely better way to make it.

Everything is cut from natural fibers — cotton, merino wool, canvas — chosen because they get better with age instead of pilling, yellowing, or losing their shape.

Still the same workshop

Every Jamie piece still comes from that same family-run workshop in Portugal, in small batches, so we can actually be in the room for quality control instead of trusting it to a spec sheet.

We pay above industry-standard wages and visit twice a year — not for a photo, just to check the work.
